Humans and Computers :An Analogy

Was reading a book on Software Engineering, thought worth of posting an article of an analogy between human memory and computers, which was explained in the best possible manner, here are some insights :-
  • The fact that human brain can store atmost 7 (magical number!) items in short memory span region is quite extraordinary and surprising , in fact you and me can at most remember only 7 recent items which our sensory organs perceive, this can be thought  of as CACHE memory in computers,a relatively short amount of memory, wow!!! What a beginning.
  • Then there is a portion in the brain which can store millions of items in the long memory span region, this is an direct analogy to a RAM inside a computer, which is relatively large
  • Then the brain has processing unit which processes it back to the Sensory organs, quite similar to what a processor do inside a computer...................signing off for the september!

I hav a wish on independence day!

  • I have a wish that "I find someone really really  special that  really understands how passionate i am,and i really really wish that i hadn't come across people with such attitude and demeanor that would display power and authority to keep me quiet, would persuade me to unknown territory, i really really wish i had NEVER EVER come across such kind of people in my life again" JAI HO.
  • The special someone who truly understands the meaning and purpose of being together and tenacity and courage to go the extra mile.
  •  A special someone that has the looks of a princess, like the Snow white in  "Snow white and the seven dwarfs"
I'll be waiting for that "D" day,JAI HO....

" social networking " - an identity crisis

Social networking sites such as orkut, facebook etc main intention is to connect with friends on the web.But i feel issues are still left in the open even though there are privacy options present in these networks, we make friends which we don't even know that they exist,or if they do this does not tell us how frequently are they using these social networks, even though issues are being addressed i feel lot more has to be done.Like for instance you don't get a reply back, your account gets hacked for no reason or no fault of yours, i wish orkut and other social networks puts up some statistic like the RSS for each profile so that you get a clear cut idea of your friends using these sites , Facebook having recent updates is a positive step in this regard.

Digressing from Mainstream Topic

Thought to myself let me take a break from all the serious issues and post about my
travelogue, "The Places I've visited Till now and want to visit in the near future"

Heading north

1.Kulu and manali
"Heaven on earth",must see place is kempty Falls on the way ,accommodation cost for a medium sized hotel:Approx 1500 per day for family, places nearby "Rohtang Pass" just before ladakh,

2.Delhi

The National Capital, parliament, rashtrapati bhavan,Qutub Minar ,Jantar mantar, not mention the famous "paratha wala Galli" from Delhi 6 and CC2C

3.Shimla

The best time to visit shimla is in summer during april-may season, really affordable accommodation, authentic HP crafts wear for shopping.

Heading South

4. Madurai

Blazing hot during summers , but relatively cool if you may call it, city of temples
,shop for authentic silk sarees and dhotis ,very affordable prices , make sure you carry a jug of water if making a visit.

5. Rameshwaram

The iconic , historical place of rameshwaram , a special mention in "Mahabharatha", very close to sri lanka, getting there: either by road or rail , but rail offers a spectacular view of bay of bengal as it approaches Panbam bridge, truly a must watch, its temple in the Guiness world record for having longest corridor

6. Kanyakumari
The southern tip of India where all the water bodies surrounding india meet,
the place where Swami Vivekananda sought inspiration and meditated and hence a rock memorial, the sandy beach and the sunset and sunrise is a must watch, the nondu or tender coconut drink is a must have too.

Again North

7.Kurukshetra

In the state of haryana , approx 1hr from Karnal, place where kalpana chawla
was born and made it to NASA , also the place where the war between pandavas and kshatriyas took place.

8. Chandigarh
The most well planned and neat city ive seen in india, has a cricket ground, famous for its rock garden ,shopping malls, rickshaw pullers,... come to think of it , each layout is organised into sectors and ull never get lost in the crowd, very hard to find south cuisine , also daabas found everywhere
accommodation slightly expensive. But worth a visit.

9. Manikaran

On the way to rohtang pass, just stop by to visit manikaran and its natural hot springs, even can have a bath in it to relieve all stress and body pain, a cost effective natural cure for your body as water is high on sulphur content.

10. Haridwar and Rishikesh

The sacred river ganga flows through this place.. must visit for all hindus. For more info click here

Must See places in india before traveling abroad

1. Goa
2. Mumbai
3. Kolkata
4. Darjeeling
5. Tuticorin
6. Pondicherry as for now

Shooting Star At night

To witness a shooting star in the night sky just reminds me of the days where i admire an engineering marvel "Aeroplane", thought to myself what made the designers design the way it was,
may be they drew inspiration from a bird, here goes

>>> Birds have wings - Planes have them too
>>> Birds Flap to clean air in front of them - Planes have engines which generate heat
>>> Birds keep their wings strong - So does planes have large wing Span

I can give numerous examples of Design being inspired by nature none better than Planes

Inhuman Practice

It was shocking to see recently in all leading news channels and online about a cop bleeding to death while his leg was chopped off from gangsters in tamil nadu and i really felt for the guy lying helpless while our ministers were simply watching waiting for something to happen... its cruel on the part of ministers who chose to admire the situation instead helping the cop out... JAI HO!

Drove a beauty yesterday!

whohooo!, drove a honda city yesterday which was one of my frens, felt like having a slice of bread with butter , so smooth are the steering wheels and the controls,... felt like heaven...
you could almost drive a cycle and a honda city and cannot tell the difference with respect to handling the machine... SIMPLY BOWLED OVER by the design and engineering of HONDA!
after all It's a HONDA! .... On road price is ~10 lakh
